Eyes wide open, now, he discovers that instead of his own red blood, everybody else in the city has blue blood instead. Amidst an attack by a pair of suspicious men, Kamina is saved by the sly Haruka, who promises the answers to all his questions.

But with hardly anybody to trust, he is called to a strong power. With the aid of Haruka, he is led, starry eyed, to a large egg amidst floating pedestals. With a moment of realization, and with a sudden flash of light, he is joined with the giant alien weapon known as RahXephon, where he morphs out through the midnight sky...

...to find he was living in a lie. Surrounding the entire city of Tokyo is a gigantic wall of time. It is here where Kamina had lived out his life, where his friends and family, now his new enemies, lived. The invading Mulian race, in an attempt to unlock the power of the human mind, enclosed themselves inside Tokyo Jupiter, trying to create a weapon so powerful, there would be no limit to its strength.
