(Synopsis)
Universal Century 0079, the One Year War rages on. As the Federation Forces and the Zeon Army are pitted against each other in a battle for liberty, a young commander named Shiro Amada, leader of the 08th MS Team, finds himself centered in the conflict. Eventually, he meets a woman named Aina Sahalin, part of the Zeon Royal Family, and a Zeon Mobile Suit Pilot. Through one of the great ironies of war, the two find themselves dismissing their sides of opposition in order to stay alive. This understanding between the two eventually leads to them falling in love.
With a war going on, the idea of a soldier from the Earth Federation and a Zeon being in a love is mistaken for disloyalty and espionage. Shiro Amada's loyalty to the Federation is brought into question. A woman named Alice Miller, of the Federation Intelligence Division, is brought in to evaluate Shiro's competency to fight.
On the other side, Aina's brother, Ginius, has finally completed his obsessive dream -- to create the Apsalus, a huge ship designed to put an end to the war with Zeon as the victors.
