The only hope for the humanity sides in the Dr Saotome's Center of Researches, discoverer of the Getter energy, and creator of the Getter Machines, three powerful spaceships, which second of their coupling configuration, are able to forming three different robots: Getter 1, Getter 2 and Getter 3.

To pilot the three Getter Machines, accurately chosen for their physical force and courage, there are: Ryoma Nagare, Hayato Jine Musashi Tomoe, respectively pilots of the Getter 1 Eagle, the Getter Jaguar 2 and the Getter 3 Bear. In the meantime, more and more decided to destroy the mankind, the terrible lord of dinosaurs sends on the Earth its Mechazaus, powerful monster bio-mechanics, that in the end of the series seem to have better on the same Getter Robot. The terrible one brontosaur, sent by King Gore, in fact, is too much powerful for the same Getter Robot.

The only solution for destroying it is that one to launch a missile into the monster mouth. But this operation failed and Getter Robot loses an arm account of a mistaken maneuver of Musashi, who, felling in guilt, decides to suicide crushing with his Getter Machines against the monster. From this point starts the second series.
