(Synopsis) What started as the masterful homage to the heroic Sung Dynasty's Yang family becomes a furious rumination on heroic sacrifice when Alexander Fu Sheng died in a car accident midway through production. Wanting to immortalize Sheng's final and unfinished perofrmance, Gordon Liu carried on. The result is a unique emotional intensity with the power of kung-fu. There are heartbreaking references to the tragedy throughout but it is the stunning climax that is unforgettable!

Trivia: When Sheng Fu was killed in car crash during filming script was rewritten to make Yang No. 5 the hero.
